Well Im absolutely buggered.
Today Kylie and I did BoxKick at Step into Life. Lots of punching, lots of jogging. Lots of everything.
I think yesterdays fitness test has finally caught up with me. I struggled to get through everything.
My shins are hurting (I assume from all of the jogging) and I don't know what to do about it. I don't want to make it worse.
Ill have a break from exercise tomorrow.
Diet today went well though. Yep, thats about it. Too tired. x

Fitness Test No. 1 20th Feb 2012
Wow!! What a session with Step into Life!! Had the fitness test today and I think I did ok.
Started with a basic warm up.
Then I did a 2km jog in 16:06 minutes (which for me being a power walker not a jogger was amazing!!)
Then we did a run back and forward between 2 cones 20m apart and had to do that for 90 seconds. I got 15 laps and all I could do during it was hope that my legs didn't give out.
Then there were the pushups (mine were on the knees) for 1 minute and I did 40 of them.
Then came the Sit ups (all the way up) in 1 minute and I managed 27.
After that was squates holding a 3kg dumbell in each hand for 1 minute and I as able to do 39 squats. After that was the shoulder press with the same weights for 1 minute and I did 45 of them (which really surprised me)
The last thing we had to do was hold a plank hold (I was off the knees) for as long as we could. I managed to hold it for 1 minute.
It was intense and I was all shaky afterwards but now I feel great (tired but great).
I think I did ok. I have never jogged 2km before. Granted I walked quite a bit (especially up the hills) but still - Im happy with the outcome.
I do feel like I have acomplished something that I thought I would never be able to do.
The next fitness test for me is in 8 weeks so it will be interesting to see the change.

Wow!! Its been nearly a month since I was here!! What have I been doing as far as a new healthier me........
I have quit the gym and joined my local 'Step into Life' group who exercise at my sons school every night. I didn't realise how un-fit I was until I joined SIL. Their cardio class is intense but a lot of fun. Caters for all fitness levels (which is good for me) and even though I have only been a member for a fortnight, they are all just so friendly that they feel like a second family. Want to know more? In addition to Step into Life I am also doing the Metabolic Jumpstar diet program which Im doing through Step into Life. I have been on MJ for a week now and to begin with I felt really flat and hungry. Now however, about to start the second week of the four week program, I feel fantastic. Im not hungry, I have so much energy and my depression at the moment is almost nil (and since Im due for my monthy annoyance is saying a huge thing!!!!)
Im looking forward to my second week doing MJ and my third week doing SIL. MJ is concentrating this week on appetite. Im going to learn how to read my body. Cool hey!! With SIL this week Im having a fittness test on Monday. Not looking forward to that however (only because I dont know what it involves). Will let you know how I go.

Well, it has been a while since I have written on my blog....... no excuses......I have been bad and have probably put all of the weight I have lost back on. Oh well. Start again. Im too scared to get on the scales again because it was that reason that I cheated. I was doing so well and it was coming off but the second time I weighed myself the scales showed that I didn't lose much and I got depressed. Im all together again after my bender and am now on a roll again.
I have been very good today. Two eggs for breaky. A small amount of Pepitas and sunflower seeds for morning tea. Smoked salmon with lettuce, red capsicum, cherry tomatoes and carb free ceaser dressing for lunch. Red grapes and almonds for afternoon tea. I then met Kylie at the gym and we went for a 55minute walk on the tready. (Granted, it wasn't very fast, but if we went any faster we would not have been able to talk to each other the whole time ;-P ) Then for din dins, I cooked a pork steak with a side salad.
I have taken a photo of my lunch and dinner but because I have lost the cord to connect my phone to the computer, I can't up load the photos onto the computer. Which is a pain in the arse. Ill have to try to figure out another way.
I had a slight headache today and I don't know if it was the toxins starting to leave my body or because I bumped my head on the clothesline. Im hoping it was because of the toxin thing and that I knocked some sense into me with the clothesline thing....... One can dream.

Stress, stress, stress
Monday 9th January (day 9 of 365 days)
It has been hard the past couple of days. After a great walk and a catch up with Kylie at the gym, I got home only to find out that we need a new hot water service and a couple of grand to buy one!! I was only stressing a couple of days ago about my electricity bill!! Now I need a new bloody hot water service!! So, we have no hot water. Sponge baths are fun (think positively!!) We have a new one being installed in the morning and decided to upgrade from electric storage to instant gas while we were at it. Money....you can be happy without it......can't you?!?!?
So my diet the past couple of days has been really hard. I eat when Im stressed. Hell, I eat when Im happy too but being stressed makes me depressed and when Im depressed I eat the most.
But.....I'VE BEEN GOOD!! HA! Bet you didn't think I was going to say that did you? Maybe my calories may have been over a tad but I have stuck to high protein so it isn't too bad.
First day back at work today so when the hot water service gets installed tomorrow, hopefully life will be back to normal. Well, as normal as life goes anyway.

Junk Day 1 - what a day!!!!
Saturday the 7th of January and it is a max temp of 33 with late thunderstorms. Don't ya love summer storms. I not talking to the high humidity leading up to the storms but the actual storms. Its about 9:30 pm and I have just gotten out of our 32 degree pool. It was amazing in the pool with the rain pouring and thunder and lightning!! Pity we had to get out.
Today was my junk day and it was also my nephews 5th birthday party. I don't think I went overboard but I think with the very high humidity and the high sugar levels I had to have a nanna nap in the afternoon.
Great day though, even if I did feel awful and bloated.
Next time I think I will only have a junk meal, not a junk day!!
This week though I have lost 3.1kgs and 4cms in total. Protein day tomorrow!! Im actually looking forward to it.

Day 6 - nearly one week down!!!
Another good day today.
Had a wonderfully delish dinner. Chicken breast with prosciutto topped with thyme and capers and slices of lemon baked in the oven. Yum!! Side dish of cauliflower and brocolli topped with lemon zest, bread crumbs and egg. Also yum. Bread crumbs are carbs i know but I have not had any today so all is ok.
Im averaging between 1200 to 1500 calories a day and Im seeing the weight slowly coming off but Im starting to want to cheat. I wanted to so badly this afternoon that I got a little depressed. Then I stopped and thought that it is just one year and that this time next year I will be in Queensland on the Gold Coast sitting in the sun and relaxing and I walked out of the kitchen. Yeah me!!
Tomorrow is Saturday so I am able to have my junk meal tomorrow. I have heard that once a week you should up the calories and then the following day lower the calories and only eat protein to jump start the new week, otherwise you body goes into 'famine' starvation mode and it sort of shuts down the using of fat for energy.
Dont know what Ill have as my 'junk' meal tomorrow. May go out for din dins....or maybe not since I got a 750 dollar electricity bill today!! Where to get the money for that one!?!
Anyway, that was off topic. Might try the Souffle omelette with mushrooms tomorrow for breaky?? I wonder if Kylie is up for a gym session in the morning??
